This board embeds an IC with a SOC that involves a 32-bit dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 and a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 with FPU/MPU. This is a cost-effective and performance optimized solution for smart and low power applications. This integrated circuit is brand new, hence, this Rhomb.io core module will be one of the first market products to make use of it.
The STM32MP157 integrates a STM32 SoC, two PMIC and a EEPROM in a small board that measures 46.98x29x3.14mm. In addition to these components, the Block Diagram also shows that, among other auxiliary components, the board has eight tiny connectors named from J401 to J408, all those components assembled in order to accomplish the standard for the Rhomb.io modular open hardware platform. Those male connectors are intended to drive all the signals coming from the SoC and PMIC to a Class 1 Rhomb.io motherboard.
